The first collaborative forfaiting business between Industrial Bank Jinan Branch and Linyi City Commercial Bank has recently been closed. The business marked the successful completion of the first inter-bank forfaiting business in the Industrial Bank, and is also the first valuable attempt in the international trade financing business. For this particular business, the Jinan Branch adopted an operating model under which the subsequent buyer was located and then the forfaiting business was purchased from the inter-bank client. As the buyer bought out the business with absolutely no recourse and the bank didn't hold the bills, no funds at the Jinan Branch were taken up, and therefore the risks associated with funds were substantially reduced. The collaborative forfaiting business has fully capitalized on the branch's extensive network of correspondent banks and demonstrated the strong fund bargaining power of the branch. This particular business has also opened up new room for inter-bank cooperation and become a fresh area of profit growth in the branch's intermediary business. In order to further deepen its financing cooperation within the industry, the branch is currently exploring the possibility of conducting independent forfaiting business with inter-bank clients.
