January 8 Industrial Bank's A-share IPO was approved by China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). The IPO issued 1.001 billion shares with issue price of RMB 15.98 per share. In the same month, the subscription fund for off-line allotment and on-line offering amounted to RMB 224 billion and RMB 937 billion respectively, both posting the highest record in domestic capital market.

June 13 The cooperation program of “Core Business System for Shandong Dongying Commercial Bank” successfully put into operation. July 6 IB held a joint press conference with Shanghai Gold Exchange in Beijing, introducing the first real gold portfolio in China to individual customers.
July IB made new leaps in the latest chart of Top 1000 World Banks released by the British journal The Banker, ranking 260th (37 positions higher than last year) for tier 1 capital and 145th (19 positions higher than last year) for total assets. Among Chinese banks, IB ranked 10th for the aforesaid two indicators, topped the list of national commercial banks in terms of average rate of return, and ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively when NPL and actual profit growth were considered.
