Major Events in 2009

January 7, 2009, the Sustainable Financing Center of the Corporate Financing Department of IB was established in Beijing. The center is charged with the task of developing sustainable finance, which includes carbon finance, energy efficiency finance and environmental finance.

January 9, 2009, IB was awarded two prizes in the 6th China Finance Rankings sponsored by Hexun.com, namely “Best Growth Bank of 2008” and “Outstanding Service Provider in the Chinese Banking Industry 2008”.

January 19, 2009, IB became the first bank to offer deferred-delivery physical gold products on the Shanghai Gold Exchange to clients nationwide.

January 2009, the number of credit cards issued by IB exceeded the 5-million mark. This positions the Bank as a major domestic credit card issuer.

February 19, 2009, deposits in RMB and foreign currencies exceeded the 100-billion mark for the very first time.

February 24, 2009, the China Foreign Exchange Trading Center granted IB the “2008 Excellence Award for Transactions” and the “Excellence Award for Derivative Products Transaction” as well as conferring it the titles “Best Market Maker”, “Best Market Maker with the Best Capability”, “Market Maker with the Greatest Influence” and “Most Popular Market Maker”.

February 2009, IB head office was named among the 4th group of “National Advanced Units for Cultural and Ideological Progress” by the Civilization Office of the Central Government.

March 27, 2009, IB entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with China Beijing Equity Exchange. The agreement involves cooperation in M&A loan business and in other areas such as corporate investment and financing, investment and financing consultancy and disposal of the credit assets of commercial banks.

April 9, 2009, IB was awarded the “Remarkable Contribution Award in Financial Business” in the 2008 China Financial Enterprises Charitable Rankings organized by the JRJ website and the China Association of Social Workers.

April 11, 2009, at the China Listed Company Board of Directors Summit Forum and the 5th (2008) Golden Round Table Award Presentation Ceremony, IB Board Director Mr. Gao Jianping was named “Most Socially Responsible Director”, Independent Director Ba Shusong was named “Most Influential Independent Director” and Board Secretary Tang Bin was named “Most Innovative Board Secretary”.

April 13, 2009, IB officially launched the “Golden Cube” brand cash management service, fully integrating the products and services of the “IB Wise Fortune” and “Online IB Five-star Navigation” brands to provide tailor-made cash management service solutions for corporate clients.

April 14, 2009, in the 2008 Chinese Banking Person of the Year Awards jointly organized by the China Finance Research Institute, China Financial Net and China Financial Journalists Club, IB Board Chairman Gao Jianping was named the “2008 Person of the Year in Chinese Banking”.

April 23, 2009, the IB Wuhan Branch entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with the Hubei Provincial People's Government. Under the agreement, the Industrial Bank promised to provide a total of RMB 50 billion in credit to transportation, automobile, steel, public and environmental and resource friendly projects in Hubei Province over the next 3 years.

April 2009, U.S. magazine Forbes published the Forbes Global 2000 rankings of listed companies. The Industrial Bank ranked No. 389 in the rankings, becoming the first enterprise from Fujian Province to make it into the Top 500.

May, Industrial Bank Shijiazhuang Branch officially opened.

May 10, 2009, in the 2009 Asian Banker Leadership Achievement Awards held by renowned financial magazine The Asian Banker, IB was honored with the “The Asian Banker Achievement Award for Payment Services to Banks and Corporations” owing to its remarkable performance in Bank-to-Bank cooperation.

May 2009, renowned international publication the Financial Times published the 2009 FT Global 500. IB entered the rankings for the first time in 292nd place with a total market value of USD 16.814 billion. The Industrial Bank ranked 16 th among the 27 companies from Mainland China that made the rankings.

May 2009, IB's customer service center (95561) was named “Best Call Center in China 2009” by the CRM Commission of the China Federation of IT Promotion and the CCCS (Customer Contact Center Standard Commission).

June 4, 2009, the Financial Times and IFC (International Finance Corporation) announced the winners of the 2009 FT Sustainable Banking Awards. The Company was nominated for two awards, i.e. the Sustainable Bank of the Year and Asian Sustainable Bank of the Year, and was named champion in the Asian Sustainable Bank of the Year category, becoming the first and only Chinese financial institution to receive the award.

June 6, 2009, The Awards Ceremony for the “4th Chinese Securities Cup Top 10 Listed Companies for Competitiveness & Public Credibility” was held in Nanjing . The Industrial Bank topped the list of “Listed Companies with the Sustainable Investment Value”, and Tang Bin, Secretary of the Board of Directors, was granted the title “Gold Medal Board Secretary for Investor Relations”.

June 8, 2009, the Department for Small Enterprises was established.

June 15, 2009, IB officially joined FACTORS CHAIN INTERNATIONAL.

June 26, 2009, IB was honored the “Award for China Brand Enterprise with the Greatest Social Influence of 2008” at the B&M 2009 3 rd Corporate Brand Dissemination Strength Chinese Summit.

June 26, 2009, the 2008 China Listed Company Value Appraisal and the 1 st Chinese Most Popular Listed Company Website Award Ceremony was held in Beijing. At the event, IB was name among “2008 China 100 Most Valuable Listed Companies”; IB's website was also named as “Best Commercial Platform Website” and Tang Bin, Secretary of the Board of Directors, was named among the “100 Best Board Secretaries of China's Listed Companies”.

June 27, 2009, the 11th Taurus Listed Company Forum and 2008 China Top 100 Listed Company Taurus Award Ceremony was held in Beijing. At the event, the Industrial Bank was awarded the “2008 Top 100 Listed Company Taurus Award”.

July 2009, IB's rankings went up in the 2009 World Top 1000 Banks rankings published by renowned international publication the Banker. The bank ranked No.117 in terms of tier-1 capital, 30 places higher than the year before and No. 9 among domestic banks. It ranked No. 108 in terms of total assets, 16 places higher than the year before and No.10 among domestic banks.

August 1, 2009, during the 2008 China Best Bank Award appraisal held by the Economic Observer, the Industrial Bank was granted the 2008 Best Green Bank Award, a special accolade of the 2008 China Best Bank Awards. The award was in recognition of the Industrial Bank's initiatives in green finance.

August 3, 2009, IB successfully launched agency services for deferred-delivery silver products on the Shanghai Gold Exchange. With this, IB offers agency services for more tradable varieties on the Shanghai Gold Exchange than any other domestic commercial bank.

August 19, 2009, IB donated RMB 2 million to Taiwan following the devastating Typhoon “MORAKOT” through the Fujian Red Cross. The donation was to aid the rebuilding effort in Taiwan.

September 5, 2009, IB was granted the award for “SME Best Financing Scheme” during the 2nd China MSE Financing Forum. The forum was jointly held by CASME, the Dalian Municipal People's Government, China Banking Association, Securities Association of China and the Financial Times.

September 25, 2009, in the 10 th China Outstanding Securities Website appraisal sponsored by Securities Times, IB's online bank and mobile phone were awarded the “Best Online Bank Award” and “Best Mobile Bank Award” respectively.

September 2009, IB's customer service center (95561) was named “2009 Best Call Center” by CCMWorld Group and the CC-CMM International Standard Certification Steering Committee.

November 17, 2009, the balance of retail credit loans exceeded the 150 billion mark.

November 21, 2009, IB's RMB 18 billion refinancing scheme was passed at the 19th Session of the 6th Board of Directors. The scheme was then passed at the 1 st interim General Shareholders' Meeting on December 8, 2009.

November 21, 2009, at the Fourth 21st Century Asian Finance Annual Meeting and 2009 Asian Bank Competitiveness Rankings Press Conference, IB was granted the “Best Asian Bank for Inter-bank Business”.

November 25, 2009, IB held a strategic cooperation agreement signing ceremony with Ministry of Railways in Beijing. According to the agreement, IB will provide the Ministry with an RMB 100 billion credit line to support the development of the railway infrastructure.

November 29, 2009, at the 2009 the First Financial Value Summit and 2009 First Financial Value Rankings Award Ceremony, IB's “Nature Life” financing brand was named the sole “Financing Brand of the Year” of the 2009 the First Financial Value Rankings. IB was also granted the “Annual Bank Financing Brand” Award.

December 3, 2009, IB was granted the “2009 Outstanding Nature Conservancy Award” by the WWF.

December 9, 2009, during the 6 th China Best Corporate Citizen appraisal sponsored by 21st century Business Herald and 21st Century Business Review, IB was granted the “China's Best Corporate Citizen Award” for the third consecutive year.

December 22, 2009, IB held a plaque presentation ceremony and news conference in Yong'an City to mark the first project in China 's banking industry to be governed by the Equator Principles. The bank announced the “Fujian Huadian Yong'an Power Generation 2×300MW Extension Project” at the event, the first project to which the Equator Principles have been applied. IB also granted a plaque reading “China Banking First Equator Principles Applicable Project” to the Fujian Huadian Power Generation Co., Ltd.

December 31, 2009, IB launched its own online shopping mall “IB Online Mall”. Joining forces with numerous well-known B 2C commercial websites in China, it is a one-stop e-commerce comprehensive service platform.
