IB Invites You to Take Part in “Earth Hour” and Advocates a New Low-carbon Lifestyle

Climate change has become one of the major challenges facing the world. Each and every business and individual should take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, inhibit global warming and save our common home.

Initiated by the WWF, Earth Hour uses a simple means of turning off lights to give an important message to the people of the world: conserve energy, be aware of climate change and protect the environment that we rely on for our survival. Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia, when 2 million residents turned their lights off for one hour to make their stand against climate change. Earth Hour quickly became a global movement. In March 2009, more than 1 billion people in over 4000 cities in 88 countries took part in Earth Hour, making Earth Hour the world's largest global anti-climate change initiative.

Earth Hour 2010 will take place on Saturday 27 March. As the first Equator Bank in China, the Industrial Bank (IB) will take part in Earth Hour 2010 to advocate the concept of sustainable development. IB also calls on all businesses and individuals who care for the environment and support low carbon activities to join us and turn the lights off for one hour from 20:30 to 21:30 on 27 March. For a better future for our earth, let us support energy conservation and emissions reduction and advocate a new low-carbon lifestyle!
