Core Business System Emergency Response Drill held by Industrial Bank

(April 11) The Industrial Bank held an emergency response drill regarding its core business system from 00:00 to 05:00 on April 11, 2010. The drill was organized in response to requests by the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) and the People's Bank of China to enhance the risk control of information systems in financial institutions in the banking industry in order to guarantee the secure and stable operation of information systems during the Expo 2010 Shanghai China and the 16 th Asian Games. The drill was deigned to test the effectiveness of the disaster backup system of the core business system of the Industrial Bank. The expected goals and tasks were successfully achieved and completed during the smooth and highly efficient drill.

The drill involved activating the city-wide disaster backup system amidst a simulated failure of the host and storage of the core business system located at the computer room of IB headquarters. Relevant departments at headquarters and 37 branches of the Industrial Bank participated in the drill. The drill, which lasted for 5 hours, not only fully verified the results of the disaster backup system and business continuity program of the Industrial Bank, but also further strengthened the emergency response awareness of its employees, improved its capacity in quick response and collaboration to combat production system emergencies and enhanced technological standards and proficiency in disaster recovery. This allows the Industrial Bank to handle various operations in a timely, continuous and effective manner after disasters occur and provides a sound information operation environment for continuous financial services.
