Industrial Bank Won The “Asia's Most Profitable Bank” Prize

Recently, the 5 th Annual Meeting of the 21st Century Asian Finance and Asian Banks Competitiveness Rankings research report revealed at the ceremony in Beijing. Industrial Bank Co., Ltd was awarded the 2010 “Most Profitable Bank in Asia” prize, and ranked among the top ten Asian commercial banks in terms of overall competitiveness.

“Over the last four years, the weighted average return on net assets exceeded 24%. Whether in the midst of the financial crisis or riding the grand scheme for economic rejuvenation, the profitability of Industrial Bank maintains a high degree of stability.” The host thought highly of Industrial Bank's sustainable profitability and spoke of “high capital return” as the impression Industrial Bank left on the market.

Recent years, with a strategy of sustainable development and differentiation as their operating philosophy, the Bank has always insisted on grasping market opportunities and innovating developmental thinking in the face of a complicated macro-economic situations. Through a well composed reasonable development strategy, the bank has achieved leaping development and its scale and profitability have maintained a fast momentum of growth. By the end of September, the total assets of Industrial Bank had exceeded RMB 1.8 trillion, up by 35.89% compared to the beginning of the year; the total assets' compound annual growth rate from 2007 to 2009 averaged at 25.09%; net profit for the first three quarters reached RMB 13.595 billion, up 42.03% on the corresponding period and exceeding the national average profitability level for last year; the net profit compound growth rate during 2007 to 2009 averaged 24.38% and the weighted average return on net assets has continually stayed above 24% ranking them among the top banks in the country, Industrial Bank's profitability continues to improve.

The “Annual Meeting of the 21st Century Asian Finance and Asian Banks Competitiveness Ranking” was organized in cooperation with 21st Century Business Herald, 21st Century Institute Financial Research Center in association with the Chinese University of Hong Kong . Evaluation indicators and analysis modules were carefully designed to appraise commercial banks' competitiveness in accordance with the standards recognized by academics and the market. In the previous rankings Industrial Bank was awarded the honorary title of “Best Cooperative Bank in Asia”. And this time again winning the 2010 “Most Profitable Bank in Asia” prize illustrates the banks' strong development momentum and comprehensive competitive strength.
