Industrial Bank Accomplished the Emergency Drilling of Core Business System Smoothly

In order to implement and enforce relevant provisions of the People's Bank of China and China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) on intensifying the control of risks in the information systems of financial institutions in the banking industry, Industrial Bank (IB) carried out the emergency drilling of the core business system from 0:00 to 6:00 am on June 10, 2012 with a view to checking the availability of the backup system for disaster recovery system of the new generation of core business system effectively, improving the emergency response capability of the system and ensuring the service continuity. The drilling was carried out smoothly and efficiently, and it successfully accomplished all given tasks and objectives.

It is reported that this emergency drilling was the first one of the new generation of core business system since it was put into operation in October 2011. In the drilling, it simulated that the production room of IB Headquarters and the local backup room for disaster recovery both had encountered major disasters, and a non-local backup room for disaster recovery room was put into use for production. It returned to the use of the production room after the drilling. The smooth accomplishment of the drilling fully proves the achievements made in the construction of the new generation of core business system and new backup system for disaster recovery, consolidates the operation environment of the information system providing uninterrupted financial services, and further enhances the response capability of the bank in handling major emergencies in the production system, thus ensuring that the bank can resume the services to customers in a timely manner upon any disaster and safeguard the safety of public fund and the quality of service.
