Customers can activate the service by clicking “Register Now -> input the credit card number applied for activation -> agree with the service agreement -> verify the identity of cardholder -> set the logon password and individualized information of 3D account -> finish the application procedure”.

Checking website for authenticity

After setting the “individualized information” according to the above process, customers may check whether the website of an overseas merchant where they do shopping is secure or not. If the trading website is a secure one that has joined the 3D verification service of the bank, the individualized information will pop out upon transaction, which can effectively prevent the credit card information of customers being intercepted by a “phishing website” and stolen by outlaws. The verification with dynamic SMS password (namely, the bank sends a random SMS password to the mobile phone number registered by a customer to check his or her identity) provides security protection for online transactions with credit cards.
