Rewarded Points of IB Help the Children of Stars

What 1,000 yuan can buy? It is not enough for one square meter of house, a famous brand handbag or even a lavish meal, but it can buy 1,000 pencils, 30 schoolbag, 50 books to help the “children of stars” , autistic school children.

On June 30, IB credit card center and Zhejiang Youth Development Foundation jointly organized charity donation of rewarded points. The holders of IB credit card may exchange rewarded points into donations to help the education for children with autism in Carnation Children Rehabilitation Center in Xiacheng District, Hangzhou.

The Carnation Children Rehabilitation Center in Xiacheng District, Hangzhou is a school founded by a mother named Ma Chen to help her daughter and other children who suffered from autism. In the past ten years, the mother has gave away everything including her real property to support the school, and has provided rehabilitation training for over 1,000 children with autism. Currently the school is fall short of teachers, and over 70 “children of the stars” now are waiting for the help from society.

As introduced by a related person-in-charge of IB Credit Card Center that, by June 30, the principle card holders can edit "CCAK + space + points intended to donate" and send to 95561 with his/her cellphone number as registered in the Bank’s system, and the donation will be made to Carnation Children Rehabilitation Center. For example, if you want to donate 75,000 points, just send “CCAK 75000” to 95561 and the donation will be made. For every 750,000 points donation, the Center will provide 1,000 yuan of grants to one children with autism in this school in the name of charity card holder of IB credit card.

“It is a good way to donate with rewarded points, and will encourage more people to participate in charity cause,” a related person-in-charge at Zhejiang Youth Development Foundation said, donation with rewarded points not only lower the threshold but also make the procedure easier with short message.

As learnt by the reporter, this is just another philanthropic act under IB's “Charity Points Program”. IB first opened the regular donation channel to “Charity Points Program” as early as December 2013, and it has partnered with China Foundation For Poverty Alleviation to build “Future Space” classroom for poor students in national level poverty-stricken countries, contiguous poverty-stricken area and migrant children school in peri-urban areas. For every 75 million points donation, the Bank will donate 100,000 yuan to build a "Future Space" classroom in the name of charity card holders of IB credit card. By May 18, 2014, a total of 57,250,000 points have been received.

IB has always been promoting a CSR practicing model of “obtaining reasonable profits while bringing benefits to the stakeholders”. “Charity Points Program” is the latest action taken by IB to perform social responsibility and make good use of accumulated rewarded points.
