Gao Jianping, Board Chairman of Industrial Bank Honored One of China’s Most Influential Business Leaders Again Consecutively

The list of “China’s 50 Most Influential Business Leaders 2015” of Fortune (Chinese version) was announced on April 10. Board Chairman Gao Jianping of Industrial Bank (IB) made his presence in the list again, becoming one of the youngest bankers listed for two consecutive years.

This is the 11th year that Fortune (Chinese version) releases the list consecutively. The judging panel believes “Gao Jianping has led IB to develop into a national bank from one initiated in Fujian, and continue exploring various innovation and transformation paths in the reform of the banking industry”. Under his leadership, IB has grown into a modern financial service group focusing on banking, which has made its presence stably in Global Top 50 Banks, Fortune Global 500, and Forbes Global 2000.

According to its performance bulletin, by the end of 2014, the total assets of IB broke through RMB 4 trillion, hitting RMB 4.41 trillion, up by 19.84% over the beginning of the year; the year-round operating incomes registered RMB 124.834 billion, up by 14.23% YoY; the realized net profits attributable to the parent company’s shareholders amounted to RMB 47.108 billion, a YoY increase of 14.31%; the weighted average return on equity was kept at a relatively high level of 21.19%.
