According to the latest annual index report released by Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited in recent days, the Industrial Bank was covered into constituent stocks of “Hang Seng (China A) Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index”again for its outstanding performance. It has been the seventh consecutive year since Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited released this index in 2010, reflecting that the achievements IB has made concerning sustainable development are fully recognized by the market.
Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index Series” was released by Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited in July 2010 to reflect the performance and investment value of listed companies in sustainable development and provide an objective and clear benchmark for the investment market. IB's being covered into the constituent stocks of this index shows that the relevant listed companies have done a good job in sustainable development including environment, society and corporate governance.
As the first equator bank in China and the only one in mainland China, IB has continued to push forward strategy of sustainable development, to vigorously develop green finance and inclusive finance and to explore the win-win business model between society and sustainable development through social responsibility practice featuring “obtaining reasonable profits while bringing benefits to the stakeholders”, thus achieving the Bank's harmonious development between comprehensive economic benefits and environment and social benefits. Apart from being covered into the constituent stocks of “Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index Series”, IB was also enlisted into constituent stocks of “Hang Seng China 50 Index” of Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited (a cross-market index measuring the overall performance of large companies in China which were listed in mainland China and are among the top ten regarding total market value), showing again that capital market recognizes IB’s sustainable development and ability to create value.
