In recent years, IB insists on differentiated development, accelerates transformation and innovation and witnesses powerful growth momentum. Its scale of asset ranks first among shareholding banks in China. By the end of the third quarter, the total asset of IB has reached RMB 5.82 trillion, ranking first among shareholding banks; total net profit has ran up to RMB 43.982 billion, and total ROA and weighted net ROA were respectively 0.80% and 14.11%, remaining excellent in the industry; cost-income ratio was 20.49%, ranking second among Top 50 World Banks; it was also listed into “2016 Fortune Global 500 with Highest Profit”.

IB, known for high level of marketization and prominent innovations, made great achievements in these years. Green finance, interbank platform, financial market business, precious metal trading, investment banking, asset management, elderly care finance and other advantageous businesses stay in the forefront in the market; construction of “big investment bank, big capital management and big wealth” system & mechanism is pushed forward steadily, strategic transformation of “light asset and high efficiency” is on track, “four wheels” including wholesales finance, industrial and commercial finance, retail finance and asset management finance go forward, and comprehensive financial innovation capability and service forms distinctive characteristics.

As one of bank groups with the most financial licenses in China, fruits of comprehensive operation and group collaborative linkage of IB catch the attention of the industry; its subsidiaries have soared up with increasing industrial position and profit contribution to the group; IB Trust, IB Financial Leasing and other subsidiaries are among the best in the industry.

Among its multitudinous highlights, green finance is definitely one of the most brilliant name cards of IB. As the earliest bank that develops green finance, IB has made a decade’s exploration. It business scale, products types as well as rules and systems take the lead in the market, and it has formed a complete and multifarious green product service system covering green financing, green leasing, green trust, green fund, green investment and green consumption. As of the end of September 2016, it has offered green financing of nearly RMB 1 trillion in total and green financing balance has exceeded RMB 450 billion.

After a decade’s exploration, IB has become a deserved leader of green finance in China. These achievements must be owed to Gao Jianping, chairman of IB.

At the award ceremony, the organizing committee gave an evaluation of Gao Jianping, “once an exploiter of green finance and today a developer of green finance, Gao Jianping has taken the command for 16 years and introduced green DNA to the Industrial Bank. After the G20 Summit, green finance becomes a hit, while IB has already noticed this and will continue to stride forward after a decade’s exploration.”

Under the leadership of Gao Jianping, IB innovatively put forward the corporate social responsibility practice philosophy of “obtaining reasonable profits while bringing benefits to the stakeholders”, combines its own development and social responsibility, actively implements the strategy of sustainable development in bank operation and management and business development in an all-round way.

While leading IB in adhering to sustainable development, Gao Jianping who always keeps a low profile spares no effort to be a “developer” of green finance. As a member of the national committee of CPPCC, Gao Jianping repeatedly called for the society to pay more attention to resource conservation and environmental protection, and to co-build ecological civilization. He also advocated that more commercial banks should play a role of being the core of modern economy and the leverage of resource adjustment, and make an active exploration and do something about green finance. In international exchanges including one with Robert B. Zoellick, former president of the World Bank, Gao Jianping actively conveyed awareness of responsibility in green development of banking industry in China and business concept of obtaining reasonable profits while bringing benefits to the stakeholders.

In November 2015, IB signed Energy Efficiency Statement for Financial Institutions advocated by G20 Energy Efficiency Finance Task Group, becoming the first financial institution in China that signed this statement and further showing the positive attitude of financial institutions in China of being committed to practicing green finance and giving impetus to development of energy efficiency.

Led by Gao Jianping, IB is transforming itself into a first-class green finance group from a first-class green bank, and drew up a green finance blueprint of the next five years early: by 2020, the financing balance of green finance of IB Group shall exceed RMB 1 trillion and the number of green finance clients shall reach ten thousand, and it will offer diversified “intelligent finance” service and work to be a world-class supplier of comprehensive green financial service.

In this CFV appraisal, subsidiaries of IB Group also made impressive performance. Industrial Research Company, founded a year and half ago, got “Best New Research Institution” award, indicating that its research level and results were quickly recognized by the market; Zheng Changmei, president of IB Financial Leasing Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of IB, received “Annual Leader of Financial Leasing”.
