On November 8, 2023, the third Global Fintech Conference opened in Beijing. IB, was invited to showcase its innovative achievements in expanding distinctive application scenarios and business models of E-CNY since becoming a designated operator. Particularly noteworthy were IB’s explorations and practices in interbank cooperation and services for Taiwan, drawing considerable attention from conference attendees.
On the opening day of the Global Fintech Conference, Zhang Qingsong, Deputy Governor of the People’s Bank of China, visited the E-CNY pilot results exhibition area at IB’s booth. He was briefed on IB’s role in leveraging interbank collaboration resources and expertise to provide comprehensive E-CNY solutions to small and medium-sized banks and service digital wallet users. He encouraged IB to continue broadening scenario applications, innovate business models, and enrich the E-CNY ecosystem.
At the event, IB also debuted its “Gazing at the Stars” series of digital hardware wallets, drawing visitors to experience purchasing blind boxes for one yuan using IB’s digital soft and hard wallets. Additionally, the “Exploring the Universe” E-CNY figurine and the “Common Roots Across the Strait” cork painting, among other cultural and creative products, were popular among young attendees.
As the only designated E-CNY operator headquartered in Fujian, IB was the first in the industry to launch a digital wallet for Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan residents, focusing on the needs of Taiwanese compatriots and enterprises. IB has developed applications like the New Taiwan Dollar to E-CNY exchange, E-CNY for property fee payment, and bond fundraising, effectively integrating Taiwanese residents and enterprises into the new Fujian lifestyle.
Furthermore, IB adheres to the principle of financial inclusion, leveraging its interbank collaboration resources to actively provide small and medium-sized banks with comprehensive E-CNY application system solutions. By opening up E-CNY functionalities, IB assists these banks in unlocking a full range of E-CNY application scenarios, extending services to counties, towns, rural areas, and remote regions across China. To date, IB has partnered with 106 banks in this initiative.
