Industrial Bank (IB) was recently honored with the “Outstanding Data Merchant of 2023” award at the 2023 Global Data Ecosystem Conference, hosted by the Shanghai Data Exchange. This recognition underlines IB’s role as a leading application-based data-driven enterprise in the digital era.
Data, a critical production element in the digital age, has become a key strategic resource influencing future development. Commercial banks, inherently data-centric, have accumulated massive customer information and financial transaction data over years of operation, providing a solid foundation for accelerating data development and utilization.
In recent years, IB has steadfastly adhered to its strategy of “Technology-driven Banking,” treating digital transformation as a vital challenge for its survival and growth. Adopting an “enterprise-level, standardized” approach, the bank has reshaped its enterprise architecture, introduced a comprehensive enterprise data dictionary, and significantly enhanced data quality, thereby unlocking the value of data as a key element. Furthermore, IB has actively collaborated with leading market data resources, incubating exceptional data products like “IB Search” and an investment research platform, based on data from over 100 partners. These efforts have yielded positive results in the intensity, breadth, and depth of data application.
Looking ahead, IB is committed to further exploring the value of data, responding to national initiatives, and promoting the “multiplier” effect of data elements across various business scenarios. The bank aims to become a pioneer in the industry for “data value transformation.”
The Global Data Ecosystem Conference is an international event in the field of data elements. This year’s conference, themed “Connecting Data Globally, Bridging Business into the Future,” brought together over 20 academicians and global experts, more than 20 international organizations and national think tanks, and over 1,000 data merchant enterprises from both international and domestic markets. Participants gathered to discuss key issues in the development of the data elements market and released a series of achievements related to the construction of the data elements market.
