Recently, the Seventh Meeting of the State Council's Joint Conference on Counter-Counterfeiting Currency Work convened in Beijing, publicly commending 19 collectives and 35 individuals from national banking institutions for exceptional achievements in counter-counterfeiting efforts since 2019. Among these, the Operations Management Department of China's Industrial Bank (CIB) Harbin Branch received the "Outstanding Collective in Counter-Counterfeiting Currency Work" accolade, while two staff members from the bank's Head Office Operations Management Department and Tianjin Branch Operations Management Department were honored as "Outstanding Individuals in Counter-Counterfeiting Currency Work."
Counter-counterfeiting currency efforts directly impact public welfare. CIB rigorously implements the CPC Central Committee and State Council's directives, upholding the political and social imperatives of this work. With a "zero tolerance for counterfeit currency" mandate, the bank executes a comprehensive strategy combining prevention and enforcement, addressing both symptoms and root causes. By establishing a "four-in-one" anti-counterfeiting system and deploying advanced technologies across three defensive layers to intercept fake currency, the bank has achieved notable results through intensified enforcement and public education campaigns.
Over the past five years, CIB has fortified its anti-counterfeiting capabilities. All on-duty cash-handling staff across the bank have completed anti-counterfeiting training and assessments, while all cash-handling equipment is equipped with counterfeit detection functions. The bank has also pioneered the development of counterfeit currency interception robots, effectively preventing the circulation of fake banknotes. Concurrently, CIB has amplified public education initiatives, educating households and radiating awareness across society to enhance collective vigilance against counterfeit currency.
