On June 24, China’s Industrial Bank (CIB) convened an expanded study session of its Party Committee’s Theoretical Study Center Group to convey and study General Secretary Xi Jinping’s financial discourses and practical insights during his work in Fujian, and to deliberate on deploying measures for their study, publicity, and implementation. Party Secretary and Chairman Lyu Jiajin presided over the meeting, with members of the head office leadership present.
The meeting emphasized that Fujian is a crucial birthplace and testing ground for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. General Secretary Xi Jinping’s financial discourses and practices during his tenure in Fujian are systematic, profound, and fruitful. They serve as a continuum with his important financial discourses since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), demonstrating consistent theoretical and practical logic while sharing the same ideological core and essential principles. They provide both a wellspring and vital guidance for pioneering the path for financial development with Chinese characteristics, carrying significant theoretical and practical value that transcends time.
The meeting stressed that CIB grew into a modern commercial bank under the care and guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping during his work in Fujian. His concern for CIB and his important instructions constitute an integral part of his financial discourses and practices in Fujian, forming CIB’s most distinctive and significant advantage. The entire bank must act with special affection, responsibility, and mission. It should closely integrate the study, publicity, and implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s financial discourses and practices in Fujian with the in-depth study of his important expositions on financial work, as well as with deeply internalizing his care and instructions for CIB. The bank must earnestly embody the political and people-centered nature of financial work, solidly carry out education deepening the implementation of the Eight-Point Decision, and effectively use study to build the soul, enhance wisdom, rectify conduct, and promote action. The bank must actively explore new paradigms for the symbiotic development of economy and finance, strive to accomplish the “Five Major Topics”, firmly safeguard against systemic financial risks, strive to excel on the path for financial development with Chinese characteristics, and make greater contributions.
The meeting stressed that 2025, as the closing year of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the planning year for the 15th Five-Year Plan, demands adherence to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The bank must persistently follow the development blueprint General Secretary Xi Jinping charted for CIB, inherit and carry forward the fundamental strategy of “Discipline-Anchored, Expertise-Led and Technology-Driven Bank”, scientifically formulate its 15th Five-Year Plan development strategy, maintain goal-oriented and problem-driven approaches, advance with gratitude through reform, work diligently with perseverance, increase income and reduce expenditure, strive to accomplish annual targets and tasks, and continuously create new prospects for high-quality development.
