“Wow! This classroom is colorful!” “There are little flowers and grass on the wall, and even a cute little dragon!” “With so many tablets and books, I can read and look up information here in the future!” Stepping into the “Xingxing Dream Classroom,” the children of Qitai County No. 1 Primary School in Changji, Xinjiang, couldn’t hide their excitement. Their curious eyes widened as they explored the brand-new learning space.
Recently, the launch ceremony of the “Xingxing Dream Center” was held in Changji, Xinjiang, and Changdu, Xizang. Representatives from CIB Charity Foundation, local education bureaus, and project schools attended the event. This initiative reflects the foundation’s commitment to its mission of “promoting common prosperity and building a harmonious society” by fostering modern quality education to cultivate a new generation with ideals, aspirations, responsibility and capability, thereby gathering vibrant strength for borderland development.
To actively act upon the “national priorities” and deeply align with the spirit of the 14th Five-Year Plan’s policy to “build 100 ‘Gateway Schools’ in border counties (regiments),” CIB Charity Foundation launched the five-year “Caring for the Gateway, Love in the Borderlands—Quality Education Enhancement Plan” at the end of 2024. With support from Fujian’s aid teams for Tibet and Xinjiang and local education departments, the project focuses on border counties such as Dingri in Xizang and Qitai in Xinjiang, establishing “Xingxing Dream Centers” in 10 schools to bring high-quality educational resources to borderland areas and “gateway” regions. Currently, the classroom renovations in all 10 project schools have been completed, marking the beginning of a five-year exploration and practice in quality education.
Guided by modern educational principles, the “Caring for the Gateway, Love in the Borderlands—Quality Education Enhancement Plan” aims to create a tripartite public welfare education service system of “hardware + curriculum + training,” delivering high-quality educational resources to children in borderland areas. In terms of hardware, a “Xingxing Dream Classroom” is built for each school and equipped with tablets, books, and multimedia devices, providing students with a uniquely styled space for interactive learning. For curriculum, the project collaborates with university expert teams to develop complementary courses that foster independent thinking, innovation, and well-rounded personalities. In training, the project emphasizes empowering local educators through tailored programs for teachers and administrators, enhancing their professional skills and decision-making perspectives to help teachers become “loving, professional, and innovative lifelong dream practitioners” and administrators “leaders in advancing local quality education,” thereby injecting enduring momentum into the educational development of borderland regions.
CIB has implemented the political and people-oriented nature of financial work, established a comprehensive public welfare system that combines regular donations with disaster relief and integrates four key initiatives including “rural revitalization,” “educational assistance,” “poverty alleviation,” and “disaster relief,” and actively participated in rural revitalization and common prosperity initiatives, earning numerous honors including the Second China Charity Outstanding Contribution (Organization) Award, the Chinese Red Cross Dedication Medal, and the First Fujian Charity Award.
