Industrial Bank of China jointly published the “2013 Investment white paper for High net worth individuals” with Hurun research institute

On March 15, the “2013 Investment white paper for High net worth individuals” publication was held at the 2013 Asian Business Aviation Exhibition. IBC President Li Renjie, Vice-President Chen Jinguang, Vice-President of retail bank management headquarters Yan Xuewang, private banking general manager Xue Ruifeng, founder of the Hurun 100 Mr Hurun together hosted the event. Especially invited to the event were nearly 150 high end clients and bank staff gathered in Shanghai to enjoy a great banquet.

President Li Renjie gave an excellent speech at the event, wherein Mr. Li expressed that with this report there would be a better understanding of the current state and future trends of various investments, symbolizing a more accurate and confident insight into the investment needs of high net worth individuals. At the same time, we hope to take the publishing of this report as an opportunity to further expand on the foundation of private wealth products and enter deeper into the hearts and minds of China’s high net worth individuals, from watching trends in wealth to watching investor’s values and world view; from sharing the joy of wealth to the joy of inner happiness. With a wider vision, deeper insights into customer care and customer service, we are able to offer our clients a more comprehensive support.

Following that was a detailed explanation of the white paper by Mr Hurun. Research from the white paper shows, that at present the rapid growth in Chinese high net worth individuals with private assets of over 6 million is slowing down, with a growth of 4%, they are estimated to be 2,8 million people. The amount of people with over a hundred million has increased with 2%, they are estimated to be around 64,500 people.

The 2008 financial crisis has raised awareness of high net worth individuals for alternative investments. Alternative investments bring with them a clear circular feature. 65% of the information comes from social activities. The main points of consideration for high net worth individuals’ investments in wines are: 88% the year, 77% the brand, 66% location. 16% of high net worth individuals have the intention to use private jet rental services in the future. Of those with a net worth of over a hundred million, this is 15%. 73% take the brand as their primary concern for investment in watches, second comes craftsmanship with 62%, locations is third with 54%.

After the seminar, Mr. Li and Mr. Hurun ended the presentation. The bank leaders then went to enjoy the exhibition.
