In December 2010, IB won the “7th China Best Corporate Citizen Prize in 2010” sponsored by 21st Century Economic Report and 21st Century Business Review, both of which are affiliated to the commercial media institution – 21st Century News Group.
The main purpose of the “Appraisal and Selection of China’s Best Corporate Citizens”is to encourage the citizenship style behavior of Chinese enterprises, and to cultivate civil society and the environment through seeking and recording a range of outstanding corporate practices of enterprises who can act as models. The activity has been held seven times successfully since 2004, resonating throughout society and business circles gaining extensive approval.
The IB after winning the “China Best Corporate Citizen Prize” three years consecutively from 2007-2009, has yet again won thin honor. As for the reasons why, the judging panel believed: “as a commercial bank, IB does not only need to offer financial instruments and services to the society and the public, but needs to become a core and a hinge of the modern economy by depending on its unique role in the deployment and control of resources; in particular, in relation to the financial project centering around the Equator Principles, having built up a green, environmentally-friendly avenue for numerous enterprises”. The comments are again a recognition of the efforts invested and achievements made by IB towards social responsibility and sustainable finance, and will definitely encourage IB to continue pushing forward in the field of sustainable finance and make more contributions to the development of sustainable finance in China.
