Industrial Bank Ranked Front in the “Social Responsibility

Appraisal of Chinese Enterprises”

On August 31, 2012, the “Fourth Social Responsibility Award Ceremony for Chinese Enterprises” sponsored by Southern Weekly was held in Beijing. Centering on the theme of the “Age of Great Strategy”, this annual conference calls on “not to be standers-by in the age of responsibility”, stressing that enterprises must carry out systemic reform, care for the disadvantaged, lay stress on the public benefits and social evenness in their development.

In its “Social Responsibility Appraisal of Chinese Enterprises”, Industrial Bank (IB) ranks No. 14 in the “2011 Social Responsibilities Ranking of Listed Chinese SOEs” and takes the top position among all joint-stock commercial banks. Meanwhile, it ranks No. 2 in the appraisal of “2012 Annual CSR Report Prize of the Annual Social Responsibility Conference for Chinese Enterprises”. Through establishing the index system mainly consisting of business performance, social responsibility, social contribution and public image, the “Social Responsibility Appraisal of Chinese Enterprises” carries out overall investigation and evaluation over the performance of social responsibilities by large enterprises in China, drawing great attention from all social circles with its public credibility.

This prize is another important one won by the bank in field of social responsibility after IB won the “2011 Best Corporate Social Responsibility Institution Award” and “2011 Corporate Social Responsibility Award for Best Green Finance” of the Chinese banking industry, and Qinxian Sub-branch of IB Taiyuan Branch won the “2011 Best Corporate Social Responsibility Award for Outlet with Special Contribution”. Since 2008, IB has published its CSR report with sustainability as the core index for four years consecutively, disclosing information on sustainable development in terms of environment, economy and society to the outside by following such principles as accuracy, reliability and clarity. As a commercial bank assuming social responsibilities consciously, IB does not merely provide financial tools and services to the society and the public, and create values for its shareholders. Moreover, with its own unique role in distributing and regulating resources, the bank also pays attention to the matters regarding environment and sustainability, making contribution to the balanced economic and social development.
