This session of Chinese Banking CSR Joint Meeting was held according to the Work Plan of the Chinese Banking CSR Joint Meeting in 2012, aiming to further improve all works relating to the corporate social responsibilities of the Chinese banking industry in 2012. At the meeting, Zhou Yongfa, Vice Secretary-General of China Banking Association, indicated that the CSR report of the Chinese banking industry would serve as a channel for the banking industry to communicate and exchange with all stakeholders. On one hand, the report exhibited the CSR achievements of the banking industry, and on the other hand, it would guide the CSR development direction of the Chinese banking industry. In 2011, the CSR report of the Chinese banking industry would make all-round improvement in terms of contents, format and quality and be prepared in both Chinese and English versions to publicize the performance of social responsibilities by the Chinese banking industry both at home and abroad, guide the international community to make correct evaluation on the Chinese banking industry, lead the banking industry of China to go abroad, boost the process of RMB internationalization, and support the Chinese enterprises to develop around the world. Zhou hoped that all members would exert their advantages in performing social responsibilities, deepen linkage, go ahead hand in hand, and disclose the social responsibilities performed by the industry in a detailed manner, propelling the sustainable and healthy development of CSR cause of the Chinese banking industry.

Then, representatives from all banks discussed relevant contents, including the framework, index system and appraisal scheme of the report, the CSR concept of the Chinese banking industry and the plan for visits to and interviews with members. The attending representatives of IB first confirmed the suggestions of other banks and then proposed opinions and suggestions over the actual situation of social responsibility performance.
