General Manager Hua Bing of the Legal and Compliance Department of Industrial Bank (IB) was invited to Amsterdam, Holland to attend the GRI Stakeholder Council Meeting

In the middle of February 2011, General Manager Hua Bing of Legal and Compliance Department of Industrial Bank, as a member of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Stakeholder Council, was invited to Amsterdam, Holland to attend GRI Stakeholder Council Meeting.

GRI is an international organization that provides regulative frameworks for institutions around the globe to prepare sustainability reports. “Sustainability Reporting Guidelines” compiled by the GRI has become one of the standards used most extensively by enterprises around the world in preparing social responsibility or sustainability reports. Stakeholder Council is part of the GRI framework administration, responsible for providing comments and suggestions to the GRI Board of Directors with regard to the development and strategy formulation of GRI, subjects of the council’s interest and other important issues.

At the invitation of GRI, General Manager Hua Bing of the Legal and Compliance Department of IB participated in the election for of new members of the new Stakeholder Council held by GRI, and finally became a member of GRI Stakeholder Council. This GRI Stakeholder Council Meeting is the first grand one held after the establishment of the new GRI Stakeholder Council. At the meeting, General Manager Hua Bing discussed a number of issues with council members from around the world, including the development of GRI, revision of the Sustainability Reporting Guidelines of GRI (version G3.1) and the compilation of version G4, etc. Starting from the China’s actual situation and that of the country’s finance sector, he also put forward constructive advice on the modification and improvement of the GRI’s Sustainability Reporting Guidelines, promotion of GRI in China, and other issues.
