Industrial Bank Listed into the “Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability

Index Series” for the Third Year Consecutively

Recently, Industrial Bank (IB) was listed into the “Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index Series” and covered into constituent stocks of “Hang Seng (China A) Corporate Sustainability Index”, “Hang Seng (Mainland and HK) Corporate Sustainability Index” and “Hang Seng (China A) Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index”. It came into effect as from September 10, 2012. This is the third consecutive year that IB has been honored into the series.

As the only Equator bank in China, IB has always been committed to exploring and practicing sustainable development. While incorporating the pursuit of harmonious unification of economy, society and environment into its own development objectives on its own initiative, the bank has evolved and advanced its corporate governance philosophy from “shareholders’ interests foremost” to “giving consideration to the interests of stakeholders”, and to “giving full consideration to the appeals of multi-parties”, and finally established the sustainable corporate governance philosophy of “actively exploring ways to push forward the performance of social responsibilities as a bank and constructing a relationship where human can live in harmony with the nature, environment and society”. This sustainable development philosophy has been integrated into the business management concept of IB and implemented into the innovation activities in many aspects such as management system, business flow, and financial products innovation. In this way, the bank has gradually formed its differentiated features and competitive edges. IB has been listed into the constituent stocks of the index series consecutively, which showcases the outstanding performance of IB in the aspects of environment, society and corporate governance and the wide recognition of the capital market and investors to its efforts and achievements in pushing ahead sustainable finance.
